Texas style: Big food, big hair, big eyes

My mother-in-law, Mudd, took us to dinner when Andy was in town this week. We went to a new restaurant in Everett, Patty's Eggnest & Turkey House.
Never heard of it, thought it sounded kind of podunk or something.
I was WRONG. It was so divine!!
I had the veggie scramble with bacon, and I ate just about the entire plate, which is a lot if you look at the following pictures.
Josh couldn't eat any of the actual waffle in his Belgian Waffle, since he ate so much cream. I was in disbelief. He was smiling...
First picture below is Lilly's pancake bear.

Josh has been needing a haircut for a long time, but hasn't wanted one because he thought his long hair looked good.
As a mom who likes her boys to look more presentable, it was overtime to get it cut.
SOOO, since it was just about time for us to get Josh a cell phone soon anyway, we agreed that if he got a haircut of my choosing (or my approval of style), we could order his cell phone afterwards.
The phone is on its way. :)

Doesn't Lilly just have the prettiest eyes?!

A few randome tidbits...
The baby still loves swimming. I was worried about the legs being not so strong as a result of being wheeled around in the stroller so much. So, remembering how swimming through the summer made a stronger crawler/almost-walker, I started that exercise again.
I am a sucker for clearance deals and a sucker for good gum. I saw some gum on clearance the other day and tried it. LOVE IT (Ice Breakers ice cubes, white), but wonder if it won't be available anymore since it was discontinued in that store? The same thing happened with Hershey Treasure chocolates. Several years ago, I discovered that nothing could beat the taste combination of chocolate and coconut in the toasted coconut flavor...then they discontinued that kind and I haven't seen it since. Oh well, at least Samoa cookies are still sold by Girl Scouts (knock on wood). Did you know the Safeway has a store-brand version of Samoas? I was in heaven when I found that out.
Many of you might recall that when we "got" the baby, our definition of "perfect"changed after seeing so many babies in the NICU. With their physical imperfections, they were still perfect babies, we had just never considered the definition of a perfect baby before.
Tonight, I am so excited for a family who gets to be home after their baby had a scary start. The baby is the picture of perfection and I hope they enjoy being back home :)
Maybe my jealous streak will be over now, who knows. Or maybe it's just aimed at families who are also dealing with leukemia. Although, another family with a leukemia diagnosis got to go home for a little while, and I am excited for them. Maybe there's hope for this pessimistic, cranky lady after all!

Alex refuses to get his hair cut too. What's with these boys?! haha I may have to find something to bribe him with too. Although Billy is anti-cell phone. That's why the only cell phone we have was a Christmas gift to me from my parents and is on their plan! haha
