Glasses

Anthony has been diagnosed with ~
Down syndrome
Tetralogy of Fallot (heart defect needing surgery at 3 months)
Hearing loss
Leukemia
diaphragmatic hernia (kidney in his chest, until surgery corrects it)

I dealt so very well with all of those diagnoses.
Several weeks ago, Anthony was prescribed glasses for significant vision challenges.
I did NOT deal well with this.
I don't know why.
I had to have glasses in kindergarten and everyone made fun of me.
He's already had to deal with so much, why one more thing?!
I don't know...
Anyways, we're still waiting on his main pair of glasses to arrive.
But, his backup glasses came already.

Before ~

During ~ (Andy's holding his arms so he doesn't yank the glasses off)
 Squirming out of it....
 And after.
Anthony loves movies, so we're getting him used to wearing the glasses with movie time.
If the glasses are on, the movie can be on.
The second the glasses are yanked off, the movie goes off.

Not too successful yet, but we're getting there.

We had string cheese for his hands to be busy that first day, but that didn't keep him from yanking them off.
*sigh*
One of our first fires of the season.
Josh has been preparing them for us.
Toasty and cozy for these coooold winter days we've already had.

This is how Anthony was sleeping the other morning when I went to check on him.
This morning, he was sleeping next to Josh.
He must've climbed into Josh's bed sometime in the night.
 This week was steroid week.
I love seeing Anthony's cute steroid belly each time.  :)
