Anthony's school's PTO (like a PTA) has an art auction fundraiser each year.
Each class creates art that is auctioned off.
This year, we made a quilt with Anthony's class.
Each child colored on the square blocks and signed their name...but it's pretty hard to read them.
That's good for privacy though.
We did a couple blocks with hand outlines, for the children who weren't able or didn't want to color.
It's far brighter than the pictures, and is pretty cozy in person.
The blue block was done by another child with Down syndrome.
Anthony's is shown above, in the green star.
I wasn't able to go out and buy a wide piece of fabric for the back.
This fabric was part of a bunch that was given to us from a friend whose mom moved.
It was the perfect color, but it would have been odd where the two pieces were sewn together.
SO, I added a white line...
Andy and I were talking about someday getting a long-arm machine, so I can do actual quilting and have it look good. Someday...

What a wonderful fundraiser project!! I've made similar quilts for teacher gifts. Here's hoping that it fetched a good price for the school!!
Don't give up on your longarm dreams. There may be a day that those dreams come true. It happened for me nearly two years ago and it was well worth the wait!!
