De-ported...for now

Ok, Anthony's central line was infected.

He was pretty miserable when his fevers would cycle through.

Andy and Anthony were both growling for the camera.
When Anthony and I arrived in Seattle (3rd ambulance ride here), it took a while to get him back to being stable and not in so much pain, or low on oxygen.
He was so miserable. The attending doctor could not believe how "unlike Anthony" he was. :(

The surgeon came to see what was going on with the port.

We thought he'd be in surgery sometime this evening.

The surgeon had him in surgery within an hour.

More serious than we thought.

The picture below is Anthony, before he was able to drink some water, before food, and before Buzz and Woody (Toy Story 3 saves the day AGAIN).

Ok, so here's the plan~

5-7 days in Seattle

Then, Anthony will get a PICC line in his arm.

Then, in a couple weeks, he'll get a new port in a completely different place.

We are surrounded by your prayers and warm thoughts.

We are surrounded by a caring, loving, sophisticated, brilliant team who truly cares for Anthony and have his best interests at heart.

Even with all this medical yuckiness, I am still grateful for Anthony's leukemia, specifically that it is the "right kind."

I am so sorry so many parents have to see their children suffer and be in so much pain.

It is a VERY scary feeling to not know if there will be a bunch of complications in such a short surgery.

Please continue to surround us in your prayers, faith, and thoughts.

Thank you.
