November 2013

Kelly ran in districts, which was state qualifier.
She was not well that day and did not run as well as normal.
But, I still think she did amazing.  :)

While we waited for Kelly to run, Superman was having fun at the playground.

Anthony was so excited to be doing the bars like Josh!
Our friends had a surprise birthday party for their dad/husband/etc.
Anthony had fun in the gym!
...and he had fun sticking his finger in the blue balloon.
 Playing with other kids.
 And watching them wrestle.
 Settling down with Grandpa.

 Our beautiful apples.
Applesauce looks gross because of the red hots.
They sweeten and add flavor.
 Daniel got his braces off!
He's also employee of the month right now!

The newest hospital kits were delivered to the hospital in November.
I hadn't heard they needed more for a long time, then out of the blue, one of our ER nurses called and said they were completely OUT!
I think we did 15 kits.
These kits have the basic necessities, plus some snacks and money for vending machines.
They are for families that get sent to Seattle for a higher level of treatment.
Caregivers never pack the right things when they only have 15 minutes to pack a bag.

Josh and his friends were Color Guard for the Veteran's Day Assembly.
Kelly looking cute, but I made her late for school at lunchtime because I took the picture.
 Maggie's Veteran's Day Assembly.
She was chosen to read "In Flanders Fields."
Anthony got some labs done, and chose glasses AND a stretchy bracelet from the treasure chest!

Thanks to clearance prices (because WHO can truly afford regular?!), I finally became part of the generation of Dyson owners.
I don't like it as much as everyone seemed to say they love theirs.
It doesn't pick up more dirt/dog hair/cat hair/etc. as my last vacuum.
Typically we go through a vacuum about every year.
My last vacuum is a Hoover, and actually still works.
But, it's now the downstairs and upstairs vacuum.
I'm not so sure how long I plan to keep the Dyson, or if I should sell it...
Anthony loves keeping up with the ipod kids, and snatching them away when they look away for a split second.
I finally put a wreath up for autumn.
 Maggie's bookmarks
I think she added an oreo logo that day.
Kelly after her cross country awards night.
She was chosen to be a team captain next year again, and was named the team cheerleader.
The ceremony was in a remodeled school here, and the bathrooms were in open doors to the room.
Anthony is potty training, so I took him in a couple times, trying to time his flushing with applause for some award out in the room.
The toilets were automatic, and he likes to bend forward while sitting on the toilet...
so he'd flush over and over while the awards were going on.
I was so embarrassed!
Once he flushed 3 or 4 times in one sitting.
Ah well, he stayed dry.  :)
Anthony found a bucket and took it right to the bedroom to show the boy in the mirror.
He stripped down, climbed in, then did his picture scrunched face.
He didn't do this more than twice though, because being nude (except undies), he would get stuck and we'd have to get him out.
Our girls being nice to each other for a few seconds.
Ready to go with two different shoes, no pants, undies are on, a hat, and a bag.
Lilly was glowing when she worked on her yoga pants one day.
 Josh's new green ipod case.
Throwing tantrums at the pediatrician's office.
Anthony is now getting caught up on immunizations.
He couldn't have any since 12 months because of the leukemia.
He was so scary sick when he got the flu shot, but had no problems at all with the regular shots!!
I was ready for him to get so sick we'd have to bring him in, but NOTHING!
We even did a second immunization later that week because he did so well.
And, because we had to do anti-clotting shots at home for a year, he didn't even cry when they did the shot.
Kelly made some gifts for a family her class adopted for Christmas.
She made some dinosaur tails for the children.
(Shhh, she's going to make one for Anthony!)
He tried it on, so she could see how it fit, and he didn't want to give it back.
Day before Thanksgiving, I was picking some fundraiser cookie dough up from a family.
Their freezer was completely empty, and so was their fridge.
I was worried and invited friends to help me fill their cupboards and fridge for Thanksgiving.
Within 12 hours, we had my van completely filled to bring to them!

Kelly sewing in the background while Lilly's doing nails
 One of the dino tails
Josh just had fun on his ipod.
Maggie made a great crust for the apple pie filling.
 The table was FULL!
 My new dishes.
I like the navy blue mugs too.
Daniel came over for Thanksgiving and fell asleep while the food was still cooking.
He worked that day, and it was busy there.
Our friend, Tony, also came over.
 All the kids!
Kelly made these cool canvas prints for the adopted family.
Andy's work had several tickets we were able to use for a hockey game.
At the hockey game, I learned that Anthony REALLY does not regulate his body temperature very well, because of his poor circulation and his heart defect.
So, the really cold walk from the parking lot to our seats at the hockey arena made him have a fever from trying to warm up.
He had a fever the first 2 periods, and we were just about ready to just go home.
He perked up after eating some popcorn and drinking his water, and was fine for the 3rd and most exciting period (and overtime shootout!).

Afterwards, the children had a lot of fun in the kitchen.
Josh is pretty strong.
