Not a good picture, but this is after swimming the night before, in Louisville.
I noticed how the soft water in Kentucky made my hair so soft and actually wavy!
At breakfast that morning, Anthony was amazed at the fish.

KENTUCKY
rest stop
I love the difference in the rest stops in different parts of the country.
The rest stops in the south were so elegant and had nice trim, like below.
Before we left Kentucky, I had a sudden thought: we need to have Kentucky Fried Chicken that is authentically fried in Kentucky!
So we did...at 10 am.
The real deal.
Authentic Kentucky Fried Chicken!
TENNESSEE
Maggie loves to bake and wants to have a bakery someday.
A few weeks before our trip, I saw an article in Country Living Magazine, about a bakery in Tennessee.
Magpie's Cakes is in Knoxville.
We made sure to stop through and have a sweet taste.
The designs were beautiful.
The taste not so much, but it was a good treat.
Right after the bakery, Kelly ran out of emesis (vomit) bags.
We had stopped at a few hospitals along our way and picked up 4 or 5 bags each time.
With travel food, Kelly had a harder time with the vomiting.
So, in Knoxville, we located a hospital and they weren't able to give her any.
A few exits later, we found another medical center and asked if we could buy or have a few bags.
The woman looked around to make sure no one was looking, then grabbed a couple out of her drawer, wrapped them in paper towels, and whispered that we could have them, but not say anything out loud.
She knew we needed them, and was willing to help even though she felt she could get in trouble for it.
We were so grateful.
Later, in Alabama, we stopped at a hospital near Gary and Yahnira's home.
After stepping through a metal detector, the security guard asked if I was there to see a doctor.
I said no and explained what I needed.
He reached into the dark room next to his chair and handed me a whole package of the emesis bags!
I think 24...
After the bakery, we stayed in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Raccoon Mountain RV Park and Campground
We arrived early in the afternoon and so everyone had time to go have fun after setting up camp, a rarity.
The kids made friends with other traveling kids.
There was Emily and Jacob from near Atlanta and some brothers from Canada.
They all played Marco Polo, sharks and minnows, and raced.
Seeing who could stay underwater the longest, in a handstand
The campground was perfect! Bathrooms were needing a remodel, but the shower tile was really nice.
The host had family with Down syndrome and so gave us a better site without extra cost.
I didn't bring up Anthony's Ds for this purpose, really! I usually felt the need to explain why we didn't want to be too close to water, because he doesn't realize the danger of drowning.
Having other kids around was really a great thing for my children. This was a really great night, and it was fun to hear the comparing of how things are in the "north" and the "south." Washington and Georgia. :)
