June 2014--Part B

We were shopping in Costco and saw one of Anthony's bio brothers!

A friend has a growing business and we helped count postcards until in groups of 100 until midnight one night.
To celebrate, we went over to their pool and hot tub a few days later.
The skating rink had a superhero night.
Maggie designed and made her Creamy Creamsicle costume by herself.
Some little kid in a spiderman costume won...

 Lilly
Summer bowling with friends and cousin Janice!
 Anthony loved wearing Josh's headphones.
Andy signed up to be a bone marrow donor at the expo before the Seattle Rock 'n Roll Marathon/Half.
If you are able, sign up too!
It really does save lives.
We ate dinner at Pasta Pallino's.

My brother, Abe, and I before the race.
Abe signed up just to do it with me!
We walked the huge majority of the half marathon (13.1 miles) because my hip has been having issues and hurts to do more than walk sometimes.
I told Abe to run since he had trained so well for this, his first half marathon!
He refused so he could spend time with his little sister.
It was great to talk to Abe and be with him for this half.
Almost at the finish line, we (Debbie and Nathaniel were cheering us on there) convinced him to sprint to the end.  :)
I got busted for checking my cell phone app for mileage.
The announcer thought I was updating my facebook status.  hehe

The one or two blocks we actually jogged/ran.

After the race, it was fun waiting with Abe, Debbie, and Nathaniel for the Sir Mix-A-Lot concert.
I loved his music back in high school, but didn't really appreciate it now.
We left early.
The sound/acoustics were awesome though!

Maggie and me with my bling

Eye exams at the same time.
I was canning tomatoes and this is what I came out to the front room to.
Anthony did all the cushions everywhere, but everyone was happy and he was safe.
They were all doing their electronics while "watching" him.
 Andy turned 42!!
The cake is only partly frosted because one of our children doesn't like frosting.

We were in Seattle for Anthony's audiology appointment.
In the past, we had to have an appointment to try to get Anthony to cooperate for a hearing test.
He would be unable to cooperate, so THEN we could schedule a sedated hearing test, which would measure bone conductivity response to sound.
So, knowing we need current hearing data for kindergarten, I scheduled the first test early in the summer, so if he needed the sedated test, we could get it scheduled before school.
We were so surprised when we were at the appointment for 20 minutes, and Anthony cooperated and did what he was supposed to!
He still (and always will) has basically no hearing in his right ear, and the hearing loss in his left ear is the same as it was last year.
I was so shocked that we didn't need to schedule a sedation!

Afterwards, we went to the Ronald McDonald House and had dinner that volunteers had prepared.
I am so thankful for our circumstances.
One family that was at the House when we were was back.
I was at a complete loss for words other than that I was so sorry.
What do you say??!
The amazing pantry at the House that any resident can use while there.
Donations of any kind truly help families in a rough time of life.
