IOWA

While in Iowa, we drove through Des Moines to see a high school friend.

She was at work so we didn't see her, but we loved driving through.

And, there was a gorgeous building that had gold covering on an onion top like the Russian cathedrals.

Gorgeous!

I asked my friend about it, and she said it's the capital building.

She said the capital actually has a hard time with people trying to climb to steal some of the gold...lol.

Keeping Anthony safe and away from that was my big worry that night.

 We had stir-fry that night, then cooked some corn that was freshly-grown in Nebraska.

(Washington grown Quincy corn is even yummier!)

 Contained for a little bit in his stroller.

 Andy was so excited when we bought the corn.

It was $3 for a dozen!!

I really wanted to get a family picture in front of one of the countless corn fields, but it never came to fruition.

 Josh built a real fire for the s'mores.

Before, we had used the camp stove.

We stayed at Hickory Haven Campground.  The bathrooms were nicely clean, but as always were a hike to get to.  I didn't like worrying about Anthony going down to the nasty pond, but the campground was nice overall.
